This is a showy bunch grass, native to the Southeastern
U.S. Grows to 36 inches in mass plantings; taller if planted
in single clump, likes moist conditions.
Muhlenbergia capillaris - Gulf Muhly 2. Muhlenbergia capillaris - Gulf Muhly
Muhly grass has an attractive pinkish plumage during late
summer and autumn. Fairly salt tolerant. This bunch grass
 is native to the coastal plain in the Southeastern U.S. and
grows to 30 inches.
Tripsacum dactyloides - Fakahatchee Grass 3. Tripsacum dactyloides - Fakahatchee Grass
A variety of tall bunchgrass that is found throughout the
Eastern U.S. from Florida to the Canadian border. Broad
leaves and upright growth habit. Grows 3 to 5 feet tall.

A smaller version of Fakahatchee, grows in peninsular
Florida from Daytona Beach to Gainesville to Cedar Key
southward. Grows 1-2 ft tall.

This showy bunch grass prefers dry conditions. Grows to
12 inches and has pink flowers in the fall, occurs throughout
the Eastern US.

Eragrostis elliottii - Silver Lovegrass 6. Eragrostis elliottii - Silver Lovegrass
Another short bunch grass for dry areas. Silver leaves and
white flowers give this grass a misty look in the fall. Native
to the Southeastern U.S.

This species spreads by rhizomes, found naturally in coastal
dunes and high tidal marshes from New Jersey to Texas.
It grows 12-18 inches in dry conditions.
Sesuvium portulacastrum - Sea Purslane 8. Sesuvium portulacastrum - Sea Purslane

Sesuvium can be used for shoreline treatments and to form
dense beds in fresh or salty water. It grows 6-8 inches tall
with small purple flowers.

A dry area bluestem with a chalky white coat on the leaves.
The plant is 12-18 inches tall with a showy plume in the fall,
3-4 ft. tall

A dry species has a low (12-18 inch) profile during the spring,
but puts up tall (4-5ft.) seed stalk that starts to green in the
summer and turns tannish-brown throughout the winter.

A low growing grass, it resembles Bermuda grass and can be
used as a turf. It needs salty soil or water for long-term survival.
Only grows 6-8 inches.

An attractive flower of the coastal dunes, thrives
in dry places. An annual, which re-seeds itself, with showy red and yellow flowers, native to Southeastern U.S. Grows to 1-2 ft. tall.

Lives in the high salt marshes from the Carolinas and Texas down to Central Florida. Sharp points to cylindrical rush-type leaves. Grows to 3-4 ft. in high inter-tidal areas.

One of the few flowers found in the ocean dunes and coastal areas. This rambling bush spreads from each rooted stalk and forms a thicket 12-18 inches high.

An emergent aquatic plant, grows in 0-12 inches of water and reaches 36 inches, with white flowers. Occurs from Canada to Texas, and east to Florida.

A showy spikerush with conspicuous brown seed heads. Grows in fresh water in the S.E. coastal plain. Forms dense beds 8-12 inches above normal water line.

18. Eleocharis cellulosa - Slender Spikerush

This aquatic plant occurs throughout the southeast and forms
dense beds along shallow littoral areas, protruding 6-12 inches
above the water surface.

19. Juncus effusus - Soft Rush
This aquatic rush grows at the waters edge and is dark green
 throughout the winter. Grows 24-36 inches tall throughout the
US in freshwater
20. Scirpus californicus - Bulrush

A tall freshwater rush with showy seed heads in the summer
and fall. Grows 6-8 ft. tall in 1-3 ft. of water.

A southern ornamental bunch grass – grows 18-24 inches tall
with attractive plumes. Blooms 6-9 months each year.

25. Paspalum quadrifarium - Crown Grass
Native to Uruguay, the leaves are broad under irrigation and
roll up when dry. Maintains a dark green color all year.

26. Bacopa caroliniana - Lemon Bacopa

This is a mat-forming, aromatic aquatic herb. It has small blue flowers and smells like lemons if the leaves are crushed. Good plant for pond edges. Grows from moist soil to 2ft. deep

27. Paspalum vaginatum - Seashore Paspalum
Seashore paspalum is a salt-tolerant turf type grass that spreads
by rhizome and stolons. It can be watered with fresh or salty water
and may be submerged for extended periods.

28. Cortaderia pumila - Dwarf Pampas Grass
A short version of the common pampas grass, this species has attractive plumage; white with purple accents. Grows 3-5 ft.
